What will we do

This course is will give you the skills and confidence to use machine embroidery in a creative way.  You will make a keepsake embroidered piece of iconic buildings. The course is suitable for beginners and experienced embroiderers. You will learn to use

  1. Decorative stitches
  2. Free hand machine embroidery to translate your favourite buildings.

Ekta will demonstrate the techniques and will give you top tips. You will then practice these on fabric provides. Once you are confident in using the machine, we will embroider architectural drawings using stitch using sumptuous threads in varying colours and thicknesses.

What you need to bring

All materials and use of machines, tools is included.

About your tutor

Ekta Kaul is an award winning textile artist and an experienced educator. She set up her studio practice  after winning the Craft Council’s prestigious business set up award Next Move. Her work is held in several private collections and is stocked at select galleries and stores the UK, the US and Japan.  Ekta regularly exhibits at national and international events and works from her studio in Bloomsbury, Central London.
