Details of Stitch Masterclass | Sunday  20 Sept 2020

The workshop is an opportunity to slow down, make a meaningful stitched piece, enjoy exchanging stories with like minded people and savour wholesome food.

Barbara Hepworth was an internationally acclaimed a British sculptor.  Though concerned with form and abstraction, Hepworth’s art was primarily about relationships. She kept returning to the motif of Mother & Child in her work, especially in 1920s-30s. (Text courtesy Tate.org.uk).  Her work and life are a huge inspiration to Ekta.

Taking inspiration from Hepworth’s sculptures, you will learn to embroider your own interpretation. You will learn a variety of hand embroidery stitches including Running Stitch, French Knots, Seeding, Stem Stitch, Whipped Running Stitch and Appliqué.

All materials including fabric, threads, hoop needles will be provided.  The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as improvers.

Please note travel to venues and accommodation is not included.
