We will make a commemorative memory maps to celebrate memories of a place of personal significance for instance the place where you grew up or travelled to on holidays. Taking inspiration from objects, photographs, maps and ephemera we will create visual compositions to translate into stitched patterns and textures. This course is suitable for those of you who wish to develop your creative skills further.

The first day will be about developing a visual through mark making, drawing and playing with scale. The second day would begin with demonstrations of embroidery techniques. Each student will get individual feedback on how to translate their artwork into embroidery and finish the piece. You will then continue to make your individual memory maps.
