What will we do

Shibori is the Japanese word for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by shaping cloth and securing it before dyeing.

This course is aimed at textile enthusiasts who wish to learn sustainable ways of dyeing and want to create pattern using Shibori techniques. Over the two days, you will learn how to prepare your fabrics for dyeing through the use of mordant, create pattern using Shibori and explore natural dyes (both extracts and botanicals).

The small group size means that there will be lots of opportunities for one-on-one feedback.

What you need to bring

All fabric, dyeing equipment and use of embroidery tools are included.

Here’s what Ekta’s happy students say

“I so enjoyed the course – it was really well structured and delivered in a way that was supportive, encouraged confidence and crucially – was hugely inspiring. I went home, my head buzzing with ideas and have already managed to carve out some time to do embroidery. You are a very talented artist and a great communicator. Thank you.”
